Human remains ID’d
The remains of 45-year-old Mohamed Jama Abdi who had been reported missing July 23, 2015 have been positively identified as those found in a farmer’s field in April. According to previous reports, on July 23 a friend of Abdi’s reported the man missing since July 12. He was supposed to have gone on holidays and return to work on July 20.

Fitness Park opens at Duke of Sutherland
The Brooks ChooseWell committee hosted a grand opening last week at the outdoor fitness park at Duke of Sutherland. The committee took on the initiative to establish the park which has been a dream of the committee since 2008. They did not start to look for a location until about 2013. “Our whole goal is to make a healthier community. This really fits into our goals,” said ChooseWell chair Laura Lukye.

Barracudas medal at provincial meet
The Brooks Barracudas had three swimmers earn medals this past weekend and a new provincial record was set by Cheyenne Arendt. The following are results from the provincial meet in Edmonton. Cheyanne Arendt- Girls 15&17 100IM- Gold (Broke her own record, new record 1:10.21 previous 1:10.50) 50m Backstroke- (32.23)Silver. 50m Freestyle- (28.52)Bronze.
