Remains of missing man, 32, found in Longview
Kristopher Goerzen, 22, of Brooks will make his first court appearance on a first degree murder charge in Cochrane Provincial Court today. Goerzen was charged on March 30 for the murder of Nick Lush, 32, of Calgary. Lush’s remains were recovered in Longview on April 6 and positively identified on April 8. Goerzen’s co-accused, Cody Kenneth Bauer, 24, of Calgary was also charged with first degree murder. He’ll appear in court next Tuesday.

Brooks Bandits win South Division title
Brooks Bandits earned an AJHL championship banner last week courtesy of a 5-2 win over the Camrose Kodiaks. The teams squared off in the seventh and deciding game in the best-of-seven hockey playoff series. Camrose, who won five of six regular season games against the Bandits, took the first two games at home and then game six in Brooks. The Bandits responded with two home ice victories to tie the series 2-2 and then earned victories in games five and seven in Camrose.
